Apparently 2009 is a boom year for weddings! The cause is quite amazing, (I have read in the press that:) rather than put off their weddings until possible better financial climes ahead, many people are more keen to marry during a recession than in boom times. Maybe its a need for security, maybe its for some other reasons, but whatever the cause, I think it can only be a good thing for society as a whole. People seem to bond more in times of need and its always great to have a celebration to look forward to as well.
I hope the current trend of getting married lasts beyond the financial unrest as some solidity in life can only be a good thing!
